We are pleased to announce that on Monday, August 8,2022, the Pecos County Commission’s Court awarded BBT a contract for the deployment of fiber optic broadband services. The project is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and includes building 16.67 fiber-miles at a cost of $851,246. BBT will also invest their own funds to further expand the advanced network in order to provide connectivity to an additional 1809 fiber-ready locations in Pecos County.
BBT’s gigabit fiber network will provide customers with the scalable bandwidth needed to meet the increasing demand and integrate the latest technologies. The investment also allows current businesses to expand and grow, while also attracting potential new businesses throughout the county. “We are very excited about the opportunity to partner with Pecos County and the funds we have been awarded. It’s a big deal when government officials such as Pecos County invest in the future of their constituents and recognize the importance of a cost-effective, fiber broadband network,” said BBT General Manager and Chief Operations Officer Rusty Moore #ruralfiberinternet #digitaldivide
