BBT is proud to announce that we were selected for a regional project in conjunction with the Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission (PBRPC). It was recently determined that alternate routes were needed to ensure that the region’s residents would never be isolated from reliable 9-1-1 services. Previously if a network issue developed some residents might find themselves unable to reach emergency services quickly and reliably. Because of BBT’s wide ranging, diverse communication routes and our experience in providing equivalent services for the Rio Grande Council of Governments, we were chosen to set up these alternate routes for the 9-1-1 system. Once complete, this new system will ensure that our area residents will always have access to emergency services in the event of life-threatening situations.
Throughout the process we will be working with other telco partners to create this alternate network for citizens in the following counties: Gaines, Andrews, Martin, Crane, Upton, Pecos, Terrell, Reeves, Ward and Dawson. The project implementation will take several months to complete but we expect to have all equipment and circuits in place by late spring 2019.
BBT is honored that the Permian Basin Regional Planning Commission has entrusted us with such a vital project and will continue to work to provide area residents with the most current and reliable services available. We will always strive to make sure our friends and loved ones are safe and have access to emergency services. It’s just one more way that BBT is here for you!
Please feel free to contact our offices at 800.592.4781 to learn more about this regional project and other exciting services we have to offer.
As our family of companies continue to evolve and change with the expectations and needs of our customers so does our name. BBT combines the past with the present and takes us into the future of communications. We have been the leading edge technology provider in the Trans Pecos area of Texas stemming from our origins of Basic Exchange Telephone Radio Service (BETRS) to our current fiber based advanced IP networks. BBT is proud to honor our heritage and continue to support and encourage economic growth and development in the communities we serve.
Big Bend Telephone and AEP Texas helped the City of Presidio public works dig 91 pier holes for the new playground. The playground is located next to the Presidio Swimming Pool. Below is the playground equipment that arrived Thursday, November 30th.
BBT General Manager, Rusty Moore, was recently elected to serve as the 2018 Southwest Region Commercial NTCA Board Member.
