Technology Service Associate
Fort Stockton, Texas

Position Overview/Description
BBT is seeking a dependable, safety-minded Technology Service Associate to serve customers in Fort Stockton and the surrounding area.
You’ll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain broadband internet, telephone, and voice communication services for residential and commercial customers.
Essential Job Functions
- Install, activate, test, and repair broadband internet and voice services.
- Install and configure modems, routers, Wi-Fi equipment, telephone equipment, adapters, antennas, cabling, and related devices.
- Install and troubleshoot traditional telephone and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services.
- Run, terminate, label, and test indoor and outdoor data and telephone wiring.
- Diagnose service interruptions, weak signals, poor call quality, wiring issues, damaged cables, and equipment failures.
- Verify internet speeds, Wi-Fi coverage, dial tone, call quality, and proper operation of customer equipment.
- Program and configure voice equipment, voicemail, calling features, and related services.
- Perform routine maintenance and testing of broadband and voice systems.
- Replace defective equipment and complete necessary repairs.
- Explain services, equipment operation, and basic troubleshooting steps to customers.
- Complete service tickets, installation records, equipment documentation, and inventory reports.
- Maintain tools, test equipment, company property, and assigned inventory.
- Follow all company safety procedures and provide professional customer service.
- Travel to customer locations throughout Terlingua and nearby communities.
- Work occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call hours as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in broadband, telecommunications, cable, networking, telephone systems, electrical work, or a related trade is preferred.
- Basic understanding of internet, Wi-Fi, routers, cabling, telephone wiring, and voice equipment.
- Experience with VoIP systems or traditional telephone service is helpful.
- Ability to diagnose technical problems and complete repairs independently.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, meters, cable testers, and other technical equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors, climbing ladders, entering crawl spaces, and working at heights.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work with limited supervision.
Training
- Training is available for a motivated candidate with a strong work ethic.
