Alpine, TX — As spring arrives across West Texas, so does a tradition of community care led by local telecommunications provider BBT. Each April, BBT employees take time out of their schedules to participate in the Don’t mess with Texas® Trash-Off, the state’s largest one-day litter cleanup event.

This year, as in many before, BBT volunteers focused their efforts along the company’s adopted stretch of U.S. Highway 67, collecting trash and debris to help preserve the scenic landscape of the region. The event is part of the Great American Cleanup, a nationwide initiative that encourages businesses, families, students, and civic organizations to take part in beautification efforts within their own communities.

To BBT, this is about more than picking up trash, it’s about showing that we care; not just about connecting West Texas through technology but about protecting the places we live and work.

The Trash-Off is organized in partnership with TxDOT’s litter prevention programs, including the well-known Adopt-a-Highway campaign and the broader Don’t mess with Texas brand, which has become a symbol of statewide pride and responsibility.

By volunteering year after year, BBT continues to demonstrate that even small acts of service can leave a lasting impression. As the company celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, its commitment to the people and places of West Texas remains as strong as ever.
