Step inside the studio of Mike Capron in Sheffield, Texas, and you’re stepping into more than just a workspace — you’re stepping into a life story. Every wall, every shelf, every canvas holds a piece of his journey: memories from Vietnam, rodeo bronc rides, and decades of artistic exploration.
“This studio is a story of his life,” says Mike’s son, Wilson Capron.
For Mike, the space is both sanctuary and scrapbook, a place where past experiences are transformed into art that resonates far beyond Sheffield.
“Sheffield, TX, is not very worldly,” Mike reflects, “but it has become worldly with internet and modern technology.” Sitting among his treasures, he points out how the tools of today allow him to share his work — and his story — with audiences across the globe.
Wilson, too, has taken his father’s lessons of creativity and independence and built a life of craftsmanship. As a custom spur maker and owner of Capron Bits and Spurs, his artistry connects tradition with innovation. “Out here is a pretty limited market,” Wilson explains. “But I can live out here in the middle of nowhere, and my product goes all over the world.”
That’s where technology becomes more than convenience — it becomes a bridge. With reliable internet service, Sheffield doesn’t feel so remote. It allows Wilson to reach customers who appreciate the detail and artistry of his work, and it gives Mike the opportunity to keep sharing his vision with the world.
At BBT, we see customers like the Caprons not just as accounts, but as neighbors, family, and allies. Reliable internet is part of that relationship — helping rural communities thrive, businesses grow, and stories like the Caprons’ find new audiences far beyond the ranch gates of West Texas.
“It’s about relationships,” Wilson says. “Life, business — I want to do business with people who are excited to see my face walk in and know me by first name.”
The Caprons’ story reminds us that even in the most rural corners of Texas, artistry, tradition, and innovation can flourish when there’s a connection strong enough to carry them forward. And with BBT, that connection is always close at hand.
